The institute is a key research institution of Henan University with distinctive characteristics. Our team currently consists of more than 40 postgraduates and 10 full-time teachers, including 2 professors, 5 associate professors, and 2 leading figures in academia and technical field. There are also two registered structural engineers and three registered civil engineers (geotechnical). 80% of the teachers are younger than 40 years old and have doctorate degrees.

We gradually set direction for research based on the national “One Belt and One Road” initiative and the idea of serving local economic construction. We have made great achievements in areas including composite foundation treatment, the development and utilization of new pile types, the research and development of deep foundation pit support technologies, environmental geotechnical engineering, risk assessment of bridge-tunnel construction, bridge detection and monitoring and so on. In recent years, we have undertaken and completed more than 20 projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Science and Technology Department of Henan Province, published more than 120 academic papers in SCI and EI, won over 10 invention patents and numerous education awards and scientific and technological progress awards at the provincial and ministerial level. At present, we have fostered an innovative research team with strong scientific research capabilities, high academic levels, a reasonable structure, and a stable direction.
